Quinta da Alameda
Oenology and nature, in the lands of Santar
“Quinta da Alameda is defined by its terroir. From here emerges a pure expression of Dão.”
Our Story
Acquired in 1826 by the Borges da Gama family’s ancestors from the Counts of Santar, Quinta da Alameda later began a new chapter with the Abrantes family. Overlooking the historic town of Santar, its landscape is crowned by the charismatic Tower of Alameda.

Terroir
Blessed with a remarkable agroforestry mosaic, Quinta da Alameda is home to the noblest terroir of the Dão.
Dão.
Cradle of great wines.
Dão Region
Nestled on a sweeping granite plateau, and sheltered by a ring of mountains, the Dão stands as one of Portugal’s most prestigious wine regions. Here, vineyards carved from the pine forests yield wines of timeless elegance, singular identity and refined sophistication.

The Dão provides the finest expression of the famous Encruzado and Touriga Nacional grape varieties, producing wines of incomparable freshness, grace, texture, vigour and minerality – wines with an unusual capacity for ageing and remarkable gastronomic potential for exemplary pairings.
